- User: Any natural or legal person who accesses, browses, or interacts with the seaquaterra.org online platform.
- Content: All text materials, images, logos, graphic design elements, ichthyological research data, specifications of bio-RAS stations, and multimedia assets present on the website.
2. Intellectual Property Rights
All content on this website constitutes the exclusive intellectual property of the AQUATERRA Ecological Society or its licensed partners, and is protected by Law no. 8/1996 on Copyright and Neighboring Rights.
- Any copying, distribution, modification, republication, or commercial exploitation of materials without the prior written consent of the association is strictly prohibited.
- Users may download or print materials from the website solely for personal, educational, and non-commercial use, provided that all copyright notices and proprietary marks are kept intact.
3. Website Use and User Conduct
Users agree to use the website, contact forms, and donation modules in a lawful manner and in good faith. The following actions are strictly prohibited:
- Sending abusive, defamatory, obscene, or spam-like messages through the contact forms.
- Introducing viruses, malicious scripts, or attempting to compromise the cybersecurity of our servers in any way.
- In the event of unusual traffic levels or suspicion of a cyberattack, we reserve the right to implement manual verification modules (such as CAPTCHAs) or temporarily block the respective IP addresses.
4. Donation, Sponsorship, and Refund Policy
All financial resources gathered through this online platform are strictly dedicated to supporting current research, ecological education, and biodiversity conservation projects carried out by our association.
- Payment Processing: Online donations are securely handled through integrated third-party payment processors. Credit/debit card data is neither accessible to nor stored by the AQUATERRA Ecological Society.
- Refund Policy: Due to legal restrictions applicable to charitable funds, donations are normally assigned immediately to ongoing conservation programs and are non-refundable. However, in the event of a proven technical error (such as duplicate transactions or incorrect amounts caused by a system glitch), the user can contact us within 14 calendar days at
office@seaquaterra.org to resolve the issue. Upon validation, the erroneous amount will be returned using the original payment method.
5. Limitation of Liability
The AQUATERRA Ecological Society makes every effort to ensure that all published information (including scientific data and project updates) is accurate and up to date. However:
- The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any express or implied warranties.
- We accept no liability for temporary interruptions of the web service resulting from technical issues outside our control, network errors, or malicious third-party activities.
- The website may contain links to third-party platforms (e.g., media channels, partners, the BioEdu portal). We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy policies or content of those external sites.
6. Complaints and Dispute Resolution Procedure
Any grievance or complaint related to the website's functionality or donation processing can be sent in writing to our official contact address.
- Resolution Timeline: The association will investigate and formulate an official response within a maximum of 15 working days from the receipt of the complaint.
- Disputes: Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably will be referred to the competent Romanian courts of law located in Bucharest.
